Members of our clinical and lab team visited Kimberly-Clark's Northfleet Mill site in Gravesend, Kent.  Pictured (left to right) are Sean Young (FY1 doctor visiting our department on work experience), Julie Cannon, Jenny Welch, Sara De Matteis, Jo Feary, Andy Heslop (Kimberly-Clark's Occupational Health Adviser at Northfleet Mill, who kindly helped arrange the tour) and Paul Cullinan.  The Andrex Puppy keeps a watchful eye behind them.

The visit was hosted by Dr Les Smith, Kimberly-Clark’s Occupational Health Physician; and our staff also met Stephanie Johnson (Health Service Coordinator UK (OHA)/clinical lead) and Stephen Mathews (Senior Process Engineer).

Our staff toured the mills, and saw all aspects of paper production.  Our lab assists the site with its occupational health surveillance programme, and we were fascinated to learn more about its production processes.

Northfleet Mill produces almost three quarters of Andrex™ mainstream, and has been making this brand since 1957.  Around 280 people are based at this site in a wide variety of functions, including operational mill roles, quality assurance, finance, HR, IT and also production planning.

We are very grateful to our hosts for an exciting and insightful visit!
