GORDS meeting - Sheffield

3 July, 2019

Participants at the July 2019 GORDS (Group of Occupational Respiratory Disease Specialists) meeting, held in Sheffield

The July 2019 GORDS (Group of Occupational Respiratory Disease Specialists) meeting was held at the Chimney House (http://thechimneyhouse.com/).

Attendees from our department were Julie Cannon, Johanna Feary, Asaad Nafees, Carl Reynolds and Joanna Szram.

Research projects were addressed in the morning, and clinical cases in the afternoon.  Asaad gave a talk on his study into cotton dust exposure among textile workers; also Carl updated us on his IPFJES study.  Presentations also included, among others, Chris Barber (our host; pictured far left) on 'Welding and COPD', and Jennie Hoyle (Manchester) on 'Mouldy old all sorts'.

Grateful thanks to our Sheffield colleagues for hosting this event!

GORDS meetings are held three times a year, in various locations; the next will be held in Birmingham on 10 October.

  • Many thanks to Professor Sherwood Burge (Birmingham) for this photo.
