Image of fruit and vegetables - study suggests that foods which are rich in antioxidants appear to protect against hay fever

Foods which are rich in antioxidants appear to protect against hay fever, say British scientists who studied the diets of 700 children on Crete.

Eight out of 10 youngsters ate fresh fruit or vegetables at least twice a day and hay fever was rare. Lead researcher Dr Paul Cullinan from London’s Royal Brompton Hospital says:

“In Crete hardly any children have allergies and one explanation is their diet.”
