Jo Feary was one of around 50 occupational lung disease specialists who attended the 6th Jack Pepys Workshop on Occupational Asthma and COPD in Toronto this year. The workshop is held every three years, and presents the opportunity to discuss the major issues in the field and to prepare recommendations for international studies; and also to provide a state-of-the-art insight into the scientific knowledge about asthma and COPD in the workplace including the controversies and challenges.

Topics discussed included cleaning agents as irritants and sensitisers, and assessing causality and diagnosis in damp environments and mould exposure.
