Current Research Interests:

• A cohort study of several thousand 50-70 year old adults in Kent and examining the impact of respiratory symptoms, COPD and airflow obstruction (FEV1) on present and future employment.
• Meta-analysis of welding and airway disease in collaboration with the Institute of Welding.
• I have also been involved in a birth cohort of asthma and allergy in children, based in Ashford, Kent and also a study looking into occupational asthma among workers in a detergent factory.

Statistics:

The statistical team has developed an expertise in statistical design and analysis of occupational surveys. For all other departmental projects, we also provide statistical design, data management, statistical analysis, presentation of results and dissemination of findings.
