Asaad has been working as Assistant Professor and member of the Environmental and Occupational Health and Injuries unit in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Aga Khan University, Pakistan.

Asaad has an MBBS from University of Karachi and fellowship in Community Medicine (FCPS) from Pakistan. He started his PhD in the Clinical Medicine Research programme at Imperial College London in 2018; this is being supported through the Wellcome Trust international training fellowship award.

He has conducted several research studies related to environmental and occupational pollutants, and respiratory health. The title of his thesis at Population Health and Occupational Disease, National Heart and Lung Institute is ‘MultiTex RCT - Multifaceted intervention package for protection against cotton dust exposure among textile workers – a cluster randomized controlled trial’. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of an intervention package for reducing cotton dust levels in textile mills and improving the respiratory health of workers.
