On Monday 25 July, 8pm, Dr Jo Szram presented a CME webinar entitled 'Asbestos and health - all the answers?'
Webinar description: Asbestos is still ubiquitous in our domestic and workplace environment, causing concern to many. Occupational historical exposure has left a legacy of lung and other diseases, mostly of long latency. This seminar will outline common questions, presentations and pathologies, with helpful information and guidance for clinical practice.
Learning outcomes:
- Describe the common lung conditions resulting from asbestos exposure
- Explain the epidemiology of asbestos related mesothelioma
- Have a knowledge of asbestos and the law
- Explain the implication of pleural plaques found incidentally on a CXR
- Discuss the possible impact of future epidemics of asbestos related disease
