Jo Szram has been elected a Royal College of Physicians (London) Council member.  The Council develops RCP policy in relation to professional and clinical matters. It gives authority to RCP statements and publications, and elections to the fellowship and membership as well as of RCP officers. It also considers and acts on current issues affecting professional practice and standards.  Further details about the Council can be seen here.

Jo's other involvement with the RCP includes being a Mentor on the Emerging Women Leaders programme (a leadership development programme commissioned specifically to address the under-representation of women in leadership roles within the RCP and the wider medical profession - please click here for further information).

As RCP London's website states, the RCP's core mission is to drive improvements in health and healthcare through advocacy, education and research.  It is an independent patient-centred and clinically-led organisation, that drives improvement in the diagnosis of disease, the care of individual patients and the health of the whole population both in the UK and across the globe.
